ACES Africa drives innovation by developing bold, practical, and culturally responsive health solutions that address Africa’s evolving challenges. We collaborate with communities, technologists, and local leaders to co-create tools and strategies that improve sexual and reproductive health and strengthen healthcare systems for lasting impact.
Research
We conduct rigorous, community-centered research to generate evidence that informs policy, empowers healthcare providers, and drives systemic change. Our work spans public health, sexual and reproductive health, and sustainability—bridging the gap between science and society for a healthier Africa.
Advocacy
Through inclusive advocacy, ACES Africa amplifies community voices to influence policies, dismantle barriers to care, and ensure equitable access to healthcare for all. We engage stakeholders at all levels—locally, nationally, and globally—to promote rights-based health approaches and sustainable development.
Some of our Projects
Family Planning Outreach, Oyo State
We visited two towns in Ibadan (Agbowo and Idi Orogun) in Oyo State to educate members of the community, including carrying out essential screening tests for sexually transmitted diseases. In collaboration with the primary healthcare centres, we spoke with residents, community leaders and healthcare workers.
The Empowered Project (TEP): Advancing Youth Mental Health through Co-Creation and Digital Innovation
Mental health disorders among Nigerian adolescents are often underreported and poorly addressed due to stigma, lack of awareness, and limited access to services. The Empowered Project (TEP) is a youth-led, self-sustaining mental health initiative aimed at empowering adolescents aged 10–19 to become proactive advocates for mental well-being within their communities.
PlanWise
PlanWise is a digital platform that has clinical rigor of a healthcare site with the welcoming feel of a social media site. It aims to clear the stigma, myths and challenges around sexual and reproductive health.
